Dialogue Script – Shopping for clothes

Liz: Let’s try this store here. They seem to have nice shirts. Just look at them!
Bob: I think I’ve got all I need now honey. Besides, I’m tired of trying on clothes…
Liz: But we still need to buy you some more shirts and a new tie for Kate’s wedding.
Bob: Let’s just look at the ties then. I already have enough shirts for the next two years.
Liz: OK, Bob. We’ll see…

Walking into the store…

Clerk: Hi. How can I help you?
Liz: Yes, please. My husband needs ties. Can you show some to us?
Clerk: Sure. Our ties are over here. Can you please follow me? (leading customers to another section of the store) We have all kinds of ties. How about these ones here?
Liz: What do you think honey? They look really modern to me.
Bob: I think they are a bit too flashy. I was thinking of something more sober.
Clerk: How about these plain ones here?
Bob: Yeah, I think I like them better. Do you have them in any other shades of blue?
Clerk: I guess so. Let me check. OK, here you are, how about these ones?
Bob: I like the one with the red stripes. Do you think it would go well with my grey suit?
Liz: Oh definitely honey! I think it’s a perfect match. Oh, Bob. Look at these polo shirts. Aren’t they nice? Why don’t you try them on?
Bob: I don’t know. I don’t really think I need anything else.
Liz: Just try this one on. I want to see how it looks on you. Besides I think you need some to wear on weekends.
Bob: OK, Liz, you win!
Clerk: What size do you wear sir?
Bob: I’m usually a medium.
Clerk: OK, here you are. The fitting room is right over there, sir.
Bob: Thanks.
Liz: By the way, do you also carry women’s blouses?
Clerk: We don’t ma’m. I’m sorry.
