O substantivo syllabus pode fazer lembrar a palavra “sílaba”, não é verdade? Mas, cuidado, o termo syllabus significa “programa de estudos; currículo escolar”. Veja o exemplo:
“What’s on this year’s English syllabus?”, David asked his classmates.
“O que está no programa de inglês este ano?”, David perguntou aos colegas de classe.
Como dizer “sílaba”? Empregue o substantivo syllable.
“How many syllables does the word “unfortunately” have?”, asked Greg.
“Quantas sílabas tem a palavra unfortunately?”, perguntou Greg.
